Mamman Daura, the Allied Peoples Movement’s vice-presidential candidate, says Seyi Makinde is the best contender for Nigeria’s 2027 presidency, ahead of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. He was speaking in Abuja during a meeting with Northern Patriotic Front leaders, according to Daily Post Nigeria.
Mamman Daura, vice-presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), ranked Seyi Makinde, the party’s candidate in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, ahead of his rivals. He described Makinde as the best candidate at a meeting with Northern Patriotic Front (NPF) leaders on Saturday at the APM campaign headquarters in Abuja, according to Daily Post.
Mamman Daura received the NPF delegation as preparations for the 2027 presidential election get under way. His assessment concerned in particular the candidacies of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who were named among Seyi Makinde’s rivals, according to Daily Post.
The statement comes after Atiku’s son backed Bola Tinubu’s re-election, as reported on 31 October. Seyi Makinde had earlier called on south-eastern Nigeria on 30 October to reject identity-based voting.
