Abba Abubakar, son of former Nigerian vice-president Atiku Abubakar, supports Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and has launched a mobilisation platform for the president. He also announced a two-million-person march and the donation of 10 buses in Abuja, according to ThisDay.

Abba Abubakar, son of former Nigerian vice-president Atiku Abubakar, has announced his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He presented the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO) in Abuja, a national platform intended to mobilise voters in support of the president and the APC, the All Progressives Congress, according to ThisDay.

Abubakar said he was acting in a personal capacity, invoking freedom of political choice despite his father’s candidacy in the 2027 presidential election for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He justified his support by citing measures attributed to the Tinubu government, including interest-free student loans from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, start-up funding for graduates, investment in roads and transport, and increased allocations to states, according to ThisDay.

The HBTO plans a mobilisation march of two million people across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. Abubakar also announced the donation of 10 luxury buses to facilitate travel, first in the Federal Capital Territory and then in other states. A mobilisation drive is planned in Rivers State the following week, according to ThisDay.

The announcement comes after the APC in Osun State publicly backed Adeleke to re-elect Tinubu on 30 October, and after Adams Oshiomhole said that the APC supports the president in 2027, published on 31 October by the APC senator.
