Baba Othman Ngelzarma, president of Nigeria’s Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, has announced his organisation’s support for Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He highlighted the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development in July 2024; the position was expressed at a rally in Kaduna, according to Vanguard.

Baba Othman Ngelzarma, national president of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has backed President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He cited the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development as a reason for this support, according to Nigerian media outlet Vanguard.

At a rally held in Kaduna, Ngelzarma said herders and other sector stakeholders were ready to support a second term for Tinubu. The ministry was created in July 2024, after decades of demands from herders, he said. The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, called on professionals to use the ministry’s programmes to increase their productivity and develop their activities. He cited inadequate veterinary services, limited access to grazing land and water, the cost of animal feed and a lack of market infrastructure among the sector’s obstacles.

The support is part of a series of calls for a second term for the Nigerian president. On 31 October, Senator Adams Oshiomhole said that his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), backed Bola Tinubu’s re-election. On the same day, Seyi Tinubu, the son of former Nigerian president Atiku Abubakar, also backed Tinubu’s re-election.
