Nigeria’s NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi and party leader Seriake Dickson led a campaign operation by boat on Bayelsa’s waterways. Hundreds of boats decorated in the party’s colours took part in the regatta organised in Yenagoa, Daily Post Nigeria reported.

Peter Obi, Nigeria’s 2027 presidential candidate, and Seriake Dickson, national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), led an election campaign by boat on Friday 30 October through the creeks of Bayelsa State. The crossing, organised in Yenagoa, brought together hundreds of boats decorated in the party’s colours, according to Daily Post.

The nautical campaign took the form of a regatta and a public rally in the capital of oil-rich Bayelsa State. Peter Obi and Seriake Dickson travelled along the region’s waterways to promote the NDC’s candidacy in the presidential election scheduled for 2027, Daily Post reported.

The operation comes after the Nigerian NDC entrusted its 2027 campaign to Henry Dickson and Peter Obi on 25 October 2026. Peter Obi had also promised on 28 October to prosecute electoral fraudsters in Nigeria in 2027.
