Nigerian presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, of the African Action Congress (AAC), was injured on Friday 30 October during an altercation at a restaurant in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. The state police said he was receiving treatment at the city’s police hospital, Punch reports.

The state police spokesperson, Sunday Abutu, denied messages posted on Sowore’s X account, which claimed he had been abducted by armed men and that his whereabouts were unknown.
