Nigeria will face Venezuela in the quarter-finals of the Under-17 Women’s World Cup on 1 November in Salé, Morocco. The Nigerians, who beat Mexico in the previous round, are seeking a place in the semi-finals, according to Punch.

Nigeria face Venezuela in the quarter-finals of the Under-17 Women’s World Cup on Sunday 1 November at 6pm local time at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, near Rabat. Kick-off will be at 7pm in Nigeria, Punch reports.

The Flamingos reached the quarter-finals after a 2-1 defeat by Poland, followed by victories over Puerto Rico and defending champions North Korea, before beating Mexico 2-1 in the round of 16. A victory would allow the team coached by Hakeem Busari to improve on its performance at the previous edition, according to Punch.

Venezuela, returning to the tournament after a 10-year absence, lost to France before beating Zambia in the group stage and Germany 1-0 in the round of 16. The South American side reached the semi-finals in its last two appearances. Hakeem Busari has urged his players to remain calm, keep possession and compete for every ball, while making the most of their chances, Punch reports.
