Former Ghana coach Otto Addo is claiming more than $750,000 from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in proceedings brought before FIFA. His claim covers salaries, bonuses and other contractual benefits that were allegedly not paid after his contract was terminated in March 2026, according to Joy Sports journalist Muftawu Nabila Abdulai.
The claim is said to include 15 months of unpaid wages, calculated at a monthly salary of $50,000, amounting to $750,000, plus bonuses and other benefits provided for in the contract. Addo is said to have taken steps with the federation after his departure.
The GFA announced the end of the coach’s second spell on 31 March 2026, a day after friendly defeats to Austria (5-1) and Germany (2-1). The results brought Ghana’s losing streak to four. Otto Addo was appointed coach in March 2024, after his first spell in charge of the Black Stars between 2022 and 2023.
The proceedings come as Ghana prepares to replace Addo. The federation extended applications for the Black Stars coaching position on 9 October and planned, on 20 October, to appoint a permanent coach by November, according to its recruitment timetable.
