Ghana’s U-15 team will face Brazil in the play-off tournament for fifth to eighth place at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival, being held in Azerbaijan. The young Ghanaians entered this bracket after losing 7-6 on penalties to Paraguay on Wednesday 28 October, following a quarter-final that ended 2-2, MyJoyOnline reports.

The match will pit Ghana against one of the other defeated quarter-finalists and determine its final ranking in the FIFA talent development programme tournament. The Ghanaian team has seven wins in eight matches and has scored 36 goals since the competition began.

Qualification for the ranking matches extends the run of a team that had reached the last 16, a stage announced in the Ghanaian U-15s’ World Cup campaign.
