Vincent Sowah Odotei, interim administrator of Accra Hearts of Oak, says a lack of entertainment explains low attendance in the Ghana Premier League. He calls on clubs to promote players who can attract their communities, according to an interview with JoySports carried by MyJoyOnline.

Vincent Sowah Odotei, lead administrator of the interim management committee of Accra Hearts of Oak, believes the lack of entertainment in Ghana’s top-flight league is keeping supporters away from stadiums. He blamed the quality of play and the entertainment on offer for weak attendance, according to MyJoyOnline.

The fall in spectator numbers is reducing club revenues and affecting the finances of the competition, MyJoyOnline reports. Vincent Sowah Odotei cited former Hearts of Oak players including Shamo Quaye and Ablade Kumah, as well as Stephen Appiah, as figures who once attracted supporters from their communities to matches.
