Seyi Makinde, the Allied Peoples Movement candidate in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, says his plan aims to redirect the country’s economy and society. In Jos, he said he was counting on God and voters to advance his “Reset Nigeria” programme, according to his campaign director.

Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State and candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, called on Sunday for a political, economic and social reset in Nigeria. He presented his ambition during a religious service at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Jos, Plateau State, according to a statement from Richard Nnanna Ihediwa, his campaign director of strategic communications.

Makinde said his RESET NIGERIA programme was a roadmap to transform the country and improve the living conditions of Nigerians. He said his candidacy was based on the support of God and voters, rather than that of political sponsors or influential figures.

The APM candidate also defended his record in Oyo State, where he said he had based his governance on planning, transparency and accountability. He was in Jos ahead of an APM campaign rally scheduled for Monday at Rayfield Park, according to his team.

The call comes after Seyi Makinde unveiled his presidential programme on 4 November 2026 and accused Tinubu of poorly planning his economic reforms on 7 November.
