Seyi Makinde accuses Tinubu of poor planning for economic reformsNumber 10 · Open Government Licence (Royaume-Uni)

Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, attributes the economic difficulties of millions of Nigerians to inadequate planning by Bola Tinubu's government. He advocates structural reforms and his "Reset Nigeria Agenda" programme, according to his radio interview in Bauchi.

The governor of Oyo State and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate in Nigeria's 2027 presidential election, Seyi Makinde, said that economic decisions by President Bola Tinubu's government had been taken without sufficient plans to cushion their effects on the population. He attributed some of the difficulties affecting millions of Nigerians to inadequate preparation and implementation, during an interview broadcast on Friday by the Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC), in Bauchi.

Seyi Makinde advocated structural reforms accompanied by precise implementation frameworks and strong political will. He also presented the APM's Reset Nigeria Agenda, a political programme that notably provides for reforming key sectors of the economy, promoting sustainable development and strengthening federalism that takes the country's diversity into account.

Seyi Makinde's intervention is part of his 2027 presidential campaign, launched in Bauchi. He had already presented his presidential programme in Nigeria on 4 November and called on President Bola Tinubu to protect the Nigerian opposition on 6 November.
