The 125 billion CFA francs allocated in the revised 2026 budget will notably fund the construction of hospital infrastructure and other major projects, as well as adjustments to staff costs, according to Mali Actu. The decision was approved on Friday 6 November by the Council of Ministers chaired in Bamako by General of the Army Assimi Goïta, head of Mali’s transition.
The Council of Ministers also restructured the National Borders Directorate and established a new National Borders Commission to strengthen the management and coordination of border issues, according to Mali Actu. The government also reviewed the outcomes of the third Russia-Africa Summit, which produced seven legal and contractual instruments, and prepared an AES ministerial meeting, the alliance of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, devoted to the civil service in Ouagadougou.
The government also called for increased vigilance in response to the rise in dengue cases and regulated the livestock vaccination campaign. It also examined Mali’s participation in COP31 on climate, held in Türkiye, according to Mali Actu.
The preparation for the AES ministerial meeting comes two days after the announcement of Assimi Goïta’s bilateral visit to Ouagadougou, published on 4 November. Assimi Goïta’s bilateral visit to Ouagadougou is the previous event cited in this sequence.
