Mali's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has mobilised several dozen buses, through the Malian Council of Road Transporters, to repatriate Burkinabè nationals staying at reception sites in Bamako. The first convoy left on 6 November in the presence of Burkina Faso's ambassador to Mali, Bamada.net reports.

Mali has mobilised several dozen buses to transport Burkinabè nationals staying at reception sites in Bamako to Burkina Faso. The first departure took place on Friday 6 November 2026 under the direction of Malian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dembélé Madina Sissoko, in the presence of Burkina Faso's ambassador to Mali, according to the communications unit of Mali's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The operation is being carried out with the Malian Council of Road Transporters (CMTR), which mobilised the buses to ensure the returns. It comes as Burkinabè nationals who left Guinea seek to return via Bamako and Ouagadougou has denounced the treatment of some of its nationals in Mali. The Malian government had reaffirmed its support for Burkinabè nationals expelled from Guinea on 7 November, according to information published by Bamada.net.
