Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has promised to deliver at least 50% of his state’s votes to President Bola Tinubu in 2027, during the launch of the APGA campaign in Awka. He announced that his party, which has no presidential candidate, was adopting Tinubu, recalling that Anambra gave him fewer than 5,000 votes in 2023, according to Vanguard.

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has promised to secure at least 50% of the state’s votes for Bola Tinubu in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election. He set this target during the launch of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), a political party in Anambra, in Awka, according to Vanguard.

Chukwuma Soludo recalled that Bola Tinubu received fewer than 5,000 votes in Anambra during the 2023 presidential election. He called on voters to support the president in order, he said, to strengthen the state’s and the South-East’s ability to negotiate with the federal government over their development.

The announcement comes after APGA adopted Bola Tinubu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election. APGA adopts Tinubu for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election had reported the decision on 7 November 2026.
