Nigerian party APGA has officially chosen President Bola Tinubu as its candidate for the 2027 presidential election, under the leadership of its national leader Chukwuma Soludo. The party also presented more than 253 candidates for various elections at the launch of its nationwide campaign in Awka, according to Vanguard.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), a Nigerian political party, has officially adopted President Bola Tinubu as its candidate for the 2027 presidential election, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo announced on Friday. The party launched its nationwide campaign in Awka by presenting more than 253 candidates for various elected positions.

Soludo, APGA’s national leader, justified the support by citing federal projects in south-eastern Nigeria, notably the modernisation and rehabilitation of the Enugu-Onitsha motorway. He called on voters to prioritise concrete benefits and strategic considerations rather than choices dictated by sentiment, ahead of the presidential and legislative elections on 16 January and 6 February 2027.

APGA’s adoption of Tinubu comes after Chukwuma Soludo backed his re-election on 1 November, notably with an Anambra coalition to re-elect Tinubu.
