Senegal's Minister of Social and Solidarity Economy, Alioune Dione, signed a framework agreement with Nexus Groupe Alliance on 26 October 2026 in Diamniadio to launch an organic economy programme structured around four projects, according to the Senegalese Press Agency (APS). The partnership is intended to benefit women, young people and workers in the social and solidarity economy.
The first project provides for the creation of a model mining village with the Senegalese Mining Company (SOMISEN), combining mining, local processing, youth training and funding for cooperatives. The second is to develop decentralised energy solutions for processing units, cooperatives and local areas.
The other two strands concern cooperation between Senegalese universities and Italian and European universities that are partners of Nexus Groupe Alliance, as well as digital cooperation with the National Broadcasting Company of Senegal (TDS). The latter is to facilitate access to television signals and decoders, APS reports. The programme forms part of Senegal's policy of supporting the social and solidarity economy, following the announcement of 100 health centres and 2,500 classrooms by Minister Déthié Fall on 25 October.
