An agreement involving the Moroccan government, the Mohammed VI Investment Fund, Taqa Morocco, Nareva and ONEE provides for nearly 130 billion dirhams for water and energy projects. The fund is expected to commit 8.8 billion dirhams in 2026, according to the report accompanying the finance bill, published by Morocco’s Economy Ministry.
Investment commitments by the Mohammed VI Investment Fund, Morocco’s public fund dedicated to mobilising private capital, are expected to reach 8.8 billion dirhams in 2026, with 2.1 billion dirhams in cumulative disbursements, according to the report on public establishments and companies accompanying the 2027 finance bill, published by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Sector Performance.
The fund is involved in an agreement concluded by the Moroccan government, Taqa Morocco, Nareva and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water to develop strategic water and energy projects. The investment package envisaged by the agreement is close to 130 billion dirhams, the ministerial report states.
FM6I launched a pilot operation in June 2026 to support 22 companies from Morocco’s 12 regions. The scheme is intended to facilitate their access to finance, notably through equity investments and quasi-equity instruments. The fund also plans to launch a new generation of funds in 2027 and publish its first impact report in 2026.
These plans are part of the 2027 finance bill, which sets out state revenue for next year. They complement investments announced by Moroccan public companies for 2027.
