Senegalese lawyer Souleymane Jules Gueye is asking Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô to clarify the cases he mentioned concerning the management of his predecessor, Ousmane Sonko. He says any serious wrongdoing should be made public and examined by the justice system, according to Seneweb.

Me Souleymane Jules Gueye, a member of the legal team of the Kiiray-Les Patriotes movement, is asking Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô to make public the management files inherited from his predecessor, Ousmane Sonko. He was responding to remarks made by the head of government at a press conference on Sunday, according to Seneweb.

Me Gueye said that if serious wrongdoing had been uncovered, Senegalese people should know what it involved and the justice system should be able to act. In a post on his digital platforms, he called for no case to be left without follow-up and said political protection should not shield anyone from accountability.

The request comes after Senegalese MP Amadou Ba called for evidence about Sonko’s management on 25 October. On 19 October, Abdourahmane Diouf had also criticised Ousmane Sonko’s record as prime minister.
