Three more bodies have been found under the rubble of a collapsed building under construction in Nairobi’s Eastleigh neighbourhood, reports Citizen Digital. Two bodies were spotted on Wednesday evening and a third at around 6.30am on Thursday 5 November, as rescue teams continued their search.

The operation has entered its 14th day, with the assistance of sniffer dogs and heavy machinery. Two women’s bodies had been found on Sunday and Tuesday, bringing to five the number of bodies discovered under the rubble. Their identification is to be carried out at Nairobi’s municipal mortuary through post-mortem examinations and DNA tests.

Rescuers had estimated that at least 10 people could be trapped in the basement, and four people were rescued alive. The building collapsed on 23 October 2026 at around 1pm, while occupants were living in the basement and on the ground floor.

The search began after a first body was found under the building on 30 October 2026. It is continuing after the confirmation on 3 November of the deaths of two women under the rubble.
