Drone strikes killed at least 14 civilians and injured several people in three areas of Sudan, including Um Dibo, El Abbasiya Tagali and Ed Damazin. They also damaged a fuel station and electricity infrastructure, disrupting access to clean water, according to Radio Dabanga, which cited residents and local sources.
Drone strikes killed at least 14 civilians and injured several others in several regions of Sudan, while attacks on electricity infrastructure caused power cuts and disrupted clean water supplies, reports Radio Dabanga.
In Um Dibo, in El Sunut locality, West Kordofan, eight people were killed and three others injured on Monday evening. On Tuesday, a strike on a fuel station in the middle of the market in El Abbasiya Tagali, South Kordofan, killed at least four people and injured more than 10. The station and several vehicles were damaged.
In Ed Damazin, in the Blue Nile region, strikes carried out on several neighbourhoods on Tuesday evening killed a woman and a young man. The Blue Nile Civil Society Initiative identified the woman as Ilham Ali Shikan, a mother of three, and said that another woman, Amal Bashir, had been injured. Governor Ahmed El Omda condemned the attacks on civilians and their property.
The Arab League attributed repeated attacks on energy facilities in several Sudanese states to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The organisation warned that targeting civilian infrastructure could constitute a violation of international humanitarian law and a war crime. These events extend a series of strikes that had already cut electricity in White Nile and North Kordofan.
