A drone strike on a petrol station in Al-Abbasiya, South Kordofan, killed seven civilians and injured 36 people, some of them critically. Residents blamed the attack on the Rapid Support Forces as many motorists queued for fuel, according to Sudan Tribune.
At least seven people were killed and 36 others injured on Tuesday 3 November in a drone strike on a petrol station in Al-Abbasiya, in Sudan’s South Kordofan state. Local sources attributed the attack to drones operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to Sudan Tribune.
The strike occurred as a large number of vehicles queued for fuel in a region affected by a shortage. Some of the victims are in a critical condition, local sources cited by the Sudanese outlet said.
The attack comes as drones operated by the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North are active in eastern South Kordofan. In recent weeks, three gold-mining sites in the Al-Leri locality have been targeted, causing civilian deaths and injuries and destroying gold-processing facilities, according to Sudan Tribune.
The Sudanese government has also accused Ethiopia of involvement in attacks on power stations in several states. The strikes reportedly destroyed at least 17 facilities and caused widespread power cuts, according to the Sudanese outlet, which also reported drone strikes on power stations in four Sudanese states.
