Drones struck electricity facilities in New Halfa and Aroma, in Sudan’s Kassala State, at around 2am on Monday, causing fires. Three aircraft attacked New Halfa and fired several missiles, according to witnesses cited by Radio Tamazuj.
Two drones were intercepted at New Halfa, while a third hit the targeted facilities. In Aroma, the strikes hit the Haya transformer station and the Al-Sahil fuel depot. Civil defence teams were still putting out the fires and no casualties had been reported, according to Radio Tamazuj.
Kassala Governor Major General (ret.) Al-Sadiq Al-Azraq went to the site to assess the damage, according to the state government secretariat. The strikes came after several drone attacks on Sudanese infrastructure were reported in recent days, including a power station in Shendi on 30 October and a power station taken out of service on 2 November.
