Nigerian governors in the South-east have called on voters in the region to support Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election. Peter Mbah and his counterparts say the president’s economic reforms are funding public projects, particularly in health and education, according to This Day.
The governors of four states in south-east Nigeria have called on voters in the region to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Peter Mbah, governor of Enugu State, Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo State, Francis Nwifuru, governor of Ebonyi State, and Charles Soludo, governor of Anambra State, made the appeal in Enugu on Saturday, according to Nigerian daily ThisDay.
Peter Mbah urged voters to vote on 16 January with their voter cards and support Bola Tinubu’s re-election. He attributed the completion of projects in the states to the president’s economic policy, including “Smart Green” schools and type 2 primary healthcare centres in Enugu State.
The appeal was made at a rally organised by the APC, Bola Tinubu’s party, as part of an assistance programme for 5,000 women from the South-east. Peter Mbah also urged voters to support APC candidates in the elections scheduled for January and February.
The mobilisation comes after Atiku’s son backed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 on 31 October and the launch of 10,000 activists to re-elect Tinubu, announced on the same day.
