A team of 10,000 activists is to mobilise voters door to door in support of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. The initiative was launched in Osogbo, Osun State, by political leaders including Ademola Adeleke and Adegboyega Oyetola, according to This Day.
A 10,000-member team tasked with campaigning door to door for Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s re-election has been inaugurated in Osun State, the daily newspaper ThisDay reports. The mobilisation took place in Osogbo, with political leaders from several parties in attendance, ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, represented by Bola Oyebamiji, the APC candidate for governor of Osun, called for 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in the state. Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by his deputy Kola Adewusi, urged members of the Accord Party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and his supporters to unite behind the president.
Nigerian businessman Oweizide Ekpemupolo, known as Tompolo, also donated 30 vehicles equipped with loudspeakers, generators and amplifiers for the campaign. Sunday Adekanbi, national coordinator of the PBAT door-to-door campaign, called on voters to collect their voter cards and help meet the target of two million votes in the state.
The mobilisation follows an alliance agreed on 30 October between Osun APC and Ademola Adeleke in support of Tinubu’s re-election. On 31 October, the son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar also backed Tinubu’s re-election.
