Senegalese traditional communicators, led by El Hadj Mansour Mbaye, have called for dialogue between the government and Pastef MPs over the vote on the 2026 supplementary finance bill. On behalf of Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo, Mbaye said he remained open to discussions, according to Seneweb.
On the eve of the vote on the 2026 supplementary finance bill (LFR), Senegalese traditional communicators called on the government and Pastef MPs to prioritise dialogue. Their spokesperson, patriarch El Hadj Mansour Mbaye, made the appeal after meeting Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo, Seneweb reports.
El Hadj Mansour Mbaye said the head of government remained open to discussions with elected representatives. He urged MPs to put the national interest first and said disagreements over the budget should be resolved through consultation rather than confrontation.
The appeal comes after the 2026 supplementary budget was rejected, as announced on 24 October. On 25 October, the government had asked Pastef to cost its amendments to the supplementary budget.
