Senegalese Customs Director General Malick Mbaye praised the arrangements for welcoming delegations to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) at Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) during a visit on Wednesday 28 October. Louis Lamotte, chief of staff to the president of the organising committee, said the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had awarded Senegalese Customs a special mention for its support for the Games, reports Seneweb.

Louis Lamotte also said that no disputes or pending cases had been recorded in the handling of delegations. The customs arrangements include simplified temporary admission procedures for equipment intended for the Games.

The visit follows the opening on 21 October of a motorway lane reserved for vehicles accredited for the YOG, and then the announcement on 28 October that 600 health workers and 30 ambulances would be deployed for the event. It is part of preparations for Dakar 2026.
