Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo has invited Pastef MPs to submit written, costed amendments to the 2026 supplementary budget after the bill was rejected in committee. The plenary session is scheduled for 27 October at 10am; Senego presents this as a negotiating option on subsidies, investment and social spending.

Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Mohamed Lô has called on Pastef to submit written, costed amendments to the 2026 supplementary finance bill (LFR), citing Article 82 of the Constitution. He made the appeal on Sunday at a press conference, Senego reports.

The plenary session on the bill is scheduled for 27 October at 10am, after it was rejected on Friday by the Finance and Budgetary Control Committee. The government cannot pass the budget without the votes of the parliamentary majority. Amendments could cover subsidies, investment, social spending and oversight of special funds.

Ahmadou Al Aminou Mohamed Lô said the initial budget was based on an oil price of $61 a barrel, whereas the price now exceeds $100, and that 540 billion CFA francs had already been raised. The head of government also urged Pastef to open its press conferences to questions from journalists. The prime minister had announced a conference on the supplementary budget, while the government defended its choices after the rejection of the 2026 supplementary finance bill.
