Fadilou Keïta, a PASTEF official and former director general of the Caisse des dépôts et consignations, is calling on Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to reshuffle the government. He links the request to the deadlock over the 2026 supplementary finance bill and the risk facing the 2027 budget, according to Senego.
Fadilou Keïta, former director general of Senegal’s Caisse des dépôts et consignations and a PASTEF party official, is calling on President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to reshuffle the government amid the deadlock over the 2026 supplementary finance bill (PLFR), Senego reports. He believes PASTEF’s return to government could help resolve the impasse between the executive and the parliamentary majority.
Fadilou Keïta accuses political aims and the “de-PASTEF-isation” of the government of contributing to the crisis surrounding the PLFR. He also denounces the “de-Sonkofication” of the state’s priority projects and strategic choices. He says that the political legitimacy that brought the project to power belongs to Ousmane Sonko, the prime minister and head of PASTEF.
The political official argues that a reshuffle could pave the way for an agreement between the executive and legislature, based on transparency and sincerity. He raises the risk of the definitive rejection of the 2026 PLFR and the initial finance bill (LFI) for 2027.
His call comes after the rejection of the 2026 PLFR and the positions that followed, notably Serigne Guèye Diop’s warning to MPs on 26 October.
