Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Alhaminou Mohamed Lô says Vision Senegal 2050 remains the government’s guiding framework, even as budget constraints require an adapted approach. At a press conference in Dakar on 25 October about the 2026 supplementary finance bill, he also called for parliamentary debate to be distinguished from obstruction, according to Lesoleil.
Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Alhaminou Mohamed Lô reaffirmed on 25 October that his government remained committed to Vision Senegal 2050 despite budget constraints. “This ambition has not changed,” he said at a press conference in Dakar on the 2026 supplementary finance bill.
The head of government said only the method would be adapted. Vision Senegal 2050 aims in particular to achieve economic sovereignty, social justice, the development of national resources and the sustainable creation of wealth and jobs. Lô called for institutional differences to be set aside in order to “ease the burden on Senegalese people”.
Addressing relations with Parliament, the prime minister distinguished democratic debate from what he described as obstruction of government work. He also recalled the state’s priorities: honouring its commitments, ensuring continuity of public services and maintaining essential investment.
The press conference had been announced on 24 October by the Senegalese prime minister. It follows the postponement of 295 billion in spending, announced on 25 October because of a shortfall in revenue.
