In Zimbabwe, 335 pupils took part in a robotics competition focused on challenges faced by poultry farmers. Organised by Robotek Robotics and AI Lab with a primary school, the initiative encourages them to create artificial intelligence and automation solutions for different stages of poultry production, according to 263Chat.
In Zimbabwe, 335 pupils took part in a robotics competition focused on problems faced by poultry farmers. Organised by Robotek Robotics and AI Lab with Hellenic Primary School, the initiative required participants to identify practical challenges and design solutions using robotics and artificial intelligence, according to Robotek co-founder Barnabas Muchehiwa, quoted by 263Chat.
The projects included automating chicken feeding and poultry-house cleaning. Joshua Zamani, a 12-year-old pupil at St John’s Preparatory School, worked on a solution intended to reduce the labour required to feed poultry, while two pupils from Hellenic Primary School developed an automated poultry-house cleaning system over one week, according to 263Chat.
The competition covered six stages of poultry production, from hatcheries to processing and slaughtering activities. Robotek also plans to take Zimbabwean pupils to Thailand next year to present their innovations to an international audience, Barnabas Muchehiwa told 263Chat.
