OpenAI has launched the artificial intelligence model GPT-6.1 Terra, with API access costing 1 dollar per million input tokens and 5 dollars per million output tokens, 50% less than some previous models. The offer targets document analysis and task automation in particular, according to OpenAI, cited by Infomediaire.

OpenAI launched GPT-6.1 Terra on Monday 26 October, an artificial intelligence model whose API access prices are 50% lower than those of GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol, according to the company. Access costs one dollar per million input tokens and five dollars per million output tokens.

OpenAI describes GPT-6.1 Terra as capable of writing, analysing images and taking actions in applications, including interpreting technical documents and automating invoice processing. The model is also available to subscribers of certain paid ChatGPT Work and Codex plans.

The launch comes on the same day that Anthropic, the company behind Claude, made public its Nasdaq initial public offering filing under the symbol ANT. The company reports more than 16 billion dollars in revenue in the first half of 2026 and a net loss of 80.7 billion, largely linked to an accounting adjustment. Anthropic had notably announced a governance structure reserving 50.1% of the votes for its co-founders.
