Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports launched a national training caravan on artificial intelligence and educational robotics in Rabat on Tuesday. The initiative is intended to help educators integrate these tools and computational thinking into classrooms, according to Yabiladi.

The programme targets staff from the 12 regional academies of education and training. Each stage will bring together 30 participants from different education levels, who will then be expected to pass on the training in the field, said Ilham Laaziz, the ministry’s director of educational and digital resources.

The caravan is organised with the Moroccan association LOOP for Science & Technology and the US embassy in Morocco. Its co-founder, Imane Berchan, highlighted the role of interactive tools and robots in classes, examinations and discussions on digital security. The US chargé d’affaires in Rabat, Benjamin Ziff, described the programme as an “innovation bridge” between the two countries. The activities are due to extend to several regions of the kingdom.
