Trump threatens to intensify US offensive against Iran

Donald Trump presented a diplomatic agreement with Tehran or an intensification of the US offensive as the two options now being considered by Washington. The US president also claimed that the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf maritime traffic, according to statements reported by Fox News.

US President Donald Trump threatened on Sunday to “annihilate” Iran if no diplomatic agreement is reached with Tehran, putting Washington’s next decisions between negotiations and an intensification of military operations. “Do I make a deal with them or do I annihilate them? That’s the only question,” he told Fox News, according to Anadolu Agency.

Donald Trump also claimed that US forces now controlled the Strait of Hormuz and that commercial traffic there exceeded pre-war levels. He described the US blockade of Iranian ports and shipping as “incredible”, according to Anadolu.

The threat came after Donald Trump referred on Saturday 24 October to new strikes or a comprehensive agreement with Iran. It extends the threats of new military operations against Iran made the previous day, after Washington announced a reduction in its troops in the Middle East on 22 October.
