Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour won gold on the balance beam at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships on Sunday 25 October in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The title gives her a second gold medal in the competition, after her victory on the uneven bars the previous day, reports Algérie 360.
The double win is a first for Algeria at the World Championships: one athlete has won two titles on two different apparatuses at a single edition. Nemour won the uneven bars with 15.333 points, ahead of Germany’s Helen Kevric by half a point and the United States’ Skye Blakely.
The gymnast had also won the individual all-around at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, with 57.750 points, before taking gold on the uneven bars there with 15.500 points. She then added a title on the balance beam at those Games.
The previous day, Nemour had retained her world title on the uneven bars in Rotterdam, a victory already reported in our article on her title.
