Capago Algeria now requires a QR code on visa applicants’ appointment confirmations for France. The document can be shown on a phone or printed, while paying fees in cash on the submission day has applied since 7 October, according to the provider cited by TSA.

Capago Algeria now requires people applying for a visa to France to present an appointment confirmation bearing a QR code when they arrive at the centre. The document can be displayed on a phone or presented in printed form, provided the code is legible, the service provider said on its Facebook page on Sunday 25 October.

The operator responsible for receiving visa applications is asking applicants to check that the code is present before travelling. The requirement follows the introduction, on 7 October, of automatic appointment confirmation and payment of fees in cash on the day the application is submitted, according to Capago Algeria.

Capago also launched a document pre-checking service for Schengen visa applications in June. France issued just over 204,000 visas to Algerian nationals in 2025, according to figures cited by TSA.

The QR code requirement comes after the temporary suspension of France-Visas in Algeria, reported on 21 October. It is a further step in the procedures for submitting French visa applications, following the changes introduced by Capago since 7 October.
