Sonelgaz Renewable Energies has issued a tender for feasibility studies for two 100 MW wind farms in Djelfa and Laghouat. The stage also covers their connection to the electricity transmission network, following an earlier tender for their turnkey construction, according to Sonelgaz.

Sonelgaz, Algeria’s state-owned electricity and gas group, has launched a feasibility study for two 100 MW wind farms in Laghouat and Djelfa. The national tender was published on 20 October by its subsidiary Sonelgaz Renewable Energies, according to Algerie Eco.

The first lot concerns a 100 MW facility at Tilghemt, in Laghouat province, and the second a wind farm of the same capacity in Djelfa province. The two projects also include facilities to connect them to the electricity transmission network, according to the specifications cited by Algerie Eco.

The tender requires candidates to have at least two references for similar wind-farm projects, each with a minimum capacity of 20 MW. It follows a procedure launched on 30 September for the turnkey construction of the two facilities, covering engineering, works, equipment supply, assembly, testing and commissioning, according to Sonelgaz Renewable Energies.
