Air Algérie will open five new international routes from 25 October, including four to Conakry, Brazzaville, Lagos and Tripoli, as well as a route between Algiers and Shanghai. The Algerian national airline will thereby increase to three the number of Chinese cities it serves, according to a statement reported by APS.

Air Algérie will launch five new international routes to Africa and Asia from Sunday 25 October, the national airline announced in a statement reported by APS. Four routes will connect Algiers with Conakry on 25 October, Brazzaville and Lagos on 26 October, and Tripoli on 28 October.

The Algiers–Shanghai route will bring to three the number of Chinese cities served by Air Algérie, following Beijing and Guangzhou, the airline said. It is intended to strengthen travel opportunities and economic exchanges between Algeria and China, according to APS.

Air Algérie describes the new routes as a step towards diversifying its international network and expanding its offer to African and Asian markets. The airline says it aims to improve Algeria’s connectivity with its regional and international surroundings and meet the needs of travellers and business operators, according to APS.
