The trial over the murder of Cameroonian journalist Martinez Zogo resumes on Monday 26 October 2026 at the Yaoundé military court, with the cross-examination of Lieutenant-Colonel Dieudonné Bialo, the prosecution’s 35th witness, Stopblablacam reports. A second day of hearings is scheduled for the following day.

Former Director-General of External Research (DGRE) Léopold Maxime Eko Eko, who is also accused in the case, is due to continue questioning Bialo. Other parties may then question the witness, before a possible re-examination by the prosecution. At hearings on 12 and 13 October, the defence focused in particular on Bialo’s appointment to the joint police-gendarmerie commission investigating the case.

The court may also hear Lieutenant-Colonel Ayissi Nanga Parfait after Bialo’s testimony, subject to the court’s decisions. On 13 October, the officer said he had received death threats and asked for protection. He was arrested in Yaoundé on 17 October and released the following day, according to RFI. Ayissi Nanga’s arrest and release came ahead of the expected resumption of the hearings.

The resumption continues hearings that began in October. The Yaoundé military court had already resumed consideration of the Martinez Zogo case on 5 October 2026.
