Manchester United lost 3-0 to Bournemouth in the English league, extending their winless run to eight matches in all competitions and leaving them one point above the relegation zone. Manager Michael Carrick told Sky Sports that his future would be reassessed after the worrying run.
Manchester United lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday 25 October, leaving manager Michael Carrick’s future in doubt. The 20-time English champions have now gone eight matches without a win in all competitions and are only one point clear of the relegation zone, according to Vanguard, citing Sky Sports.
Michael Carrick said he would do “what is best” for Manchester United, while saying he loved his role and responsibilities. Supporters backed the manager at the final whistle before turning on the players, Sky Sports reported. Carrick had left captain Bruno Fernandes on the bench without bringing him on, after the Portuguese player criticised his tactical choices in Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat by Como.
The defeat by Bournemouth was the latest stage in a run already marked by questions over Carrick’s management. Bruno Fernandes had been left as a substitute for the match, while the manager had continued to exchange with Alex Ferguson and Ole Gunnar Solskjær, according to articles published on 25 October.
