Donald Trump has proposed UFC chief Dana White to become White House press secretary. White has not yet accepted the offer, announced by Trump on Truth Social on Saturday, after Stephen Miller was appointed chief of staff, according to Seneweb.
Donald Trump on Saturday 7 November proposed the White House press secretary post to Dana White, head of the UFC, the world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) organisation. The US president announced the proposal on his Truth Social network, specifying that Dana White had not yet accepted it.
Dana White reposted Donald Trump’s message on Instagram from London, where he was attending a fight, and published a photo showing him at the White House press briefing room podium. Donald Trump asked him to surround himself with deputies from the MMA world, including two Russians and a Brazilian woman, according to Seneweb.
The White House press secretary post has been vacant since Katie Zacharia was dismissed on 16 October after less than a week in office. The proposal also comes after Stephen Miller was appointed White House chief of staff on Friday and after the Democrats’ victory in Tuesday’s midterm elections, according to Seneweb.
Donald Trump also ordered his Justice Department to investigate Democrats’ threats to launch impeachment proceedings against members of his administration. Democratic leaders said their future congressional majority, from January, intended in particular to open congressional investigations targeting Donald Trump, his administration and his associates, according to Seneweb.
