Tunisia’s 2026-2027 olive campaign is expected to be highly mixed, with 350,000 tonnes forecast in Sidi Bouzid compared with around 500,000 tonnes the previous season. The forecasts, collected in eight governorates as of 31 October, remain partial and concern olives before pressing, according to Tunisia Online.

The Tunisian region of Sidi Bouzid is forecasting an olive harvest of 350,000 tonnes for the 2026-2027 campaign, compared with around 500,000 tonnes the previous season. The estimate represents a fall of around 30%, according to regional agricultural services cited by the TAP news agency.

The forecasts show wide differences between governorates. Kairouan is expecting 275,000 tonnes, while Mahdia is forecasting 110,613, Gabès 50,000, Bizerte 16,000, La Manouba 14,000, Tataouine 3,300 and Ariana 2,400. The figures concern harvested olives, not the volume of oil obtained after pressing.

In Gabès, the expected harvest stands at 50,000 tonnes, compared with 73,000 tonnes the previous season, a fall of around 31.5%. Agricultural services are forecasting 49,000 tonnes from irrigated areas and 1,000 tonnes from rain-fed areas. These figures, provided as of 31 October by the regional agricultural development committees, do not yet cover all 24 Tunisian governorates.

The Sidi Bouzid forecast complements that of Kairouan, where 275,000 tonnes are expected, published on 21 October. The campaign also follows the mobilisation of 150 million dinars for olive oil, announced on 23 October.
