Guinea’s Ministry of Industry and Trade will seize products sold without prior authorisation from 1 January 2027. Operators have until 31 December 2026 to obtain a market authorisation certificate or an import permit, according to a ministry statement published on 30 October.
Guinea’s Ministry of Industry and Trade will give economic operators until 31 December 2026 to bring their products into compliance. From 1 January 2027, goods sold without prior authorisation will be seized and administrative measures taken against the operators, according to a statement published by the ministry on 30 October.
Products manufactured in Guinea must have a Certificate of Market Authorisation (CMM), while imported goods must be covered by an Import Authorisation (AI). Operators can seek information from the National Directorate of Internal Trade and Competition or call the toll-free number 142, available Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, the ministry said.
The Guinea Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts (CCIAG) will step up information and awareness-raising for operators. The ministry presents these measures as a means of protecting consumers and promoting fair competition in the Guinean market. They follow inspection operations that have already led to the seizure of 14,759 cartons of Bama mayonnaise.
