Guinean students repatriated from Iran say they have been living in extreme hardship for more than three months, without financial assistance, medical care or institutional support. Their spokesman, Ousmane Abedine Camara, is calling on the Guinean government and humanitarian organisations to support families and sick people, Mosaiqueguinee reports.
Several Guinean students repatriated from Iran say they have been living in extreme hardship since their return and are calling for medical, financial and humanitarian assistance. Ousmane Abedine Camara, spokesman for their collective, says no authority has contacted them since their arrival more than three months ago, according to Guinean media outlet Mosaiqueguinee.
Mr Camara says the students were left at the airport without medical examinations, support or financial assistance. He says their approaches to the office of the Guinean foreign ministry have gone unanswered and that the group includes families with children as well as sick people.
The collective is calling on the Guinean government and humanitarian organisations to provide follow-up care and support for the reintegration of those repatriated. It is requesting emergency assistance to prevent, according to its spokesman, a human tragedy.
