The Network of Online Press Professionals of Ivory Coast (REPPRELCI) presented its priorities to the director general of the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP), Fausséni Dembélé, at a meeting held in Abidjan on Friday 30 October 2026. The delegation, led by the network’s president, Traoré Mamadou, focused discussions on combating disinformation, cooperation between the two organisations and the economic difficulties facing the digital press.
Traoré Mamadou, elected to head REPPRELCI on 8 May 2026, presented the Digital Media Observatory, which is expected to publish reports on the sector, as well as the IvoirCheck verification platform, recently certified by the Global Fact-Checking Network. He also announced preparations for the network’s 20th anniversary celebrations, according to Ivoire Actu.
Fausséni Dembélé congratulated the new leadership team and reaffirmed the AIP’s willingness to support REPPRELCI initiatives. The meeting extends the agency’s cooperation efforts, notably preparations for an agreement with the Gabonese agency announced on 29 September, as part of efforts to strengthen its regional partnerships.
