Bingerville MP Issouf Doumbia says the municipality should receive 200 billion CFA francs from the 2026-2030 National Development Plan, worth 14,000 billion. The funds are to finance two bridges, road works and educational and social infrastructure, according to the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP).
Bingerville MP Issouf Doumbia announced on Tuesday 27 October that the municipality should receive 200 billion CFA francs under Ivory Coast’s National Development Plan (PND) for 2026-2030. The allocation, representing about 1.43% of the 14,000 billion CFA francs earmarked for the plan, was presented during a parliamentary feedback session, according to the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP).
The funds are notably intended to finance two bridges, linking Éloka to Vitré, in the Grand-Bassam area, and Abatta to Koumassi. Issouf Doumbia also announced the construction and rehabilitation of schools, the extension of strategic roads and social infrastructure.
During the meeting, the MP reported on laws adopted during the first parliamentary session of 2026. He notably mentioned the requirement for all-risk insurance for property developers and project owners building structures of more than two storeys, as well as the law on the social and solidarity economy, intended to provide financial support to women and young people with projects who are organised in associations.
Akoupé MP-Mayor Sanon Koffi Michel welcomed transport investments under way in the area, including the Feh Kessé roundabout interchange, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project and the Abidjan metro. The announcement follows the launch in Bouaké of construction of 1,520 social housing units, on 17 October 2026.
