Imperial Corporation Guinée, Carrefour's exclusive franchisee in Guinea, signed an agreement in Paris with the developers of the Conakry-Mall complex to establish a Hyper Carrefour supermarket. The project plans to open one store in December 2026 and three more in January 2027, creating nearly 1,000 jobs, according to Visionguinee.

Hyper Carrefour will open a store in Conakry in December, followed by three more in January 2027, said Imperial Corporation Guinée (ICG) president Esmad Kalil Soufane during the signing in Paris of an agreement with the developers of the Conakry-Mall complex, according to Guinean media outlet Visionguinee.

ICG is French group Carrefour's exclusive franchise partner in Guinea. The agreement was signed at the Hôtel Prince de Galles, in the presence of Kerfalla Camara, president of Guinean group Guicopres, developer of Conakry-Mall, Noureddine Fisli, managing director of Kakandé Retail, and Christophe Destuynder, representing the Carrefour group. The project is expected to create nearly 1,000 jobs for young people and has the support of financial institutions Proparco and SFI, subsidiaries of the French Development Agency and the World Bank.

Guinea's first Carrefour store has already incorporated locally manufactured products, an approach the group wants to expand on an industrial scale with the new openings.

The signing follows agreements announced in early November between Conakry-Mall and Carrefour alongside four other international brands, amid growing commercial investment in Guinea, where regional elections are set for 29 November.
