In Diourbel, Baye Mayoro Diop called for Ousmane Sonko's arrest and permanent ineligibility after the Finance Committee rejected the supplementary finance bill. Local officials urged MPs to pass it, citing its impact on grants, water, salaries and healthcare workers' pay, Seneweb reports.

In Diourbel, Baye Mayoro Diop, director of the Centre régional des œuvres universitaires et sociales at Alioune Diop University of Bambey, called for Ousmane Sonko's arrest and permanent ineligibility. He also called for the dissolution of the National Assembly, which he considers illegitimate, during a press conference by the Kiiraay departmental coordination committee on the rejection of the supplementary finance bill, according to Seneweb.

The mayor of Patar, Adiou Sène, called on MPs Alioune Sène and Coumba Ndiaye to vote for the bill. He said its rejection would notably jeopardise social grants, water supplies in Touba and the payment of salaries. Dr Ameth Niang also cited healthcare workers' remuneration, companies awaiting payment and student grants among the expenditure concerned, according to Seneweb.

The National Assembly's Finance Committee rejected the 2026 supplementary finance bill on 23 October. The supplementary budget bill is due to return to plenary on 3 November, after PASTEF rejected the Senegalese supplementary budget in its current form.
