Soldiers from the north-west joint task force, deployed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, freed eleven abducted people during two operations conducted on 30 and 31 October in the Danko-Wasagu local government area of Nigeria’s Kebbi State. The operations also repelled an ambush and thwarted a terrorist attack, according to Captain Tamuno Sinivie, the force’s acting spokesperson.
In the first operation, the military pursued attackers who had blocked the road between Ribah and Dirindaji after attempting to invade Ribah town. The seven people abducted by the armed men were released as they fled towards Rambo village and then reunited with their families. In the second operation, four other victims were found abandoned after an ambush in the Wasagu-Falfala area and handed over to the village head, according to Captain Tamuno Sinivie.
