The PASTEF parliamentary group refuses to adopt the 2026 supplementary finance bill in its current form, after the Finance Committee rejected it. Its MPs maintain five points of disagreement over debt, the deficit, purchasing power, public investment and transparency, according to their 30 October statement.

Senegalese parliamentary group PASTEF – Les Patriotes announced on 30 October that it would not vote for the 2026 supplementary budget bill (PLFR) in its current form. In a statement, the group said the responses from the Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning had not allayed its reservations, according to Senego.

PASTEF disputes, in particular, the credibility of the deficit and debt forecasts, the effectiveness of measures to tackle the high cost of living, and choices on public investment and social priorities. The group is also calling for documents to be submitted, including the Forvis Mazars report, the Inspectorate General of Finance report on non-financial debt and the report on budget execution for September 2026.

The National Assembly’s Finance and Budgetary Control Committee rejected the bill after reviewing it again. PASTEF also denounced the refusal to rationalise public agencies and regulate special funds, while saying it remained open to dialogue with the government.

This opposition follows PASTEF’s demands over the supplementary budget, made on 23 October, and its calls for guarantees on investment and debt on 24 October. The Senegalese committee rejected the 2026 supplementary budget again.
