Dakar’s flagrante delicto court on Friday convicted Professor Ousmane Fall, a topography teacher at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technical Development (G15), of speech contrary to public decency and online insults targeting Dr Mouhamad Ahmad Lo, Seneweb reported. He had been remanded in custody on 27 October.

The case began after a complaint filed by Dr Mouhamad Ahmad Lo, represented by Mouhamed Diouf, following several live broadcasts on TikTok. The complainant accused Ousmane Fall of, among other things, calling him homosexual, questioning his parentage and insulting him by calling him a “dog”.

The content was associated with the TikTok accounts “Beuga Bamba”, “Seutou Lat Dior” and “Naby”. Investigators watched eight videos and seized a USB drive containing recordings, screenshots and electronic exchanges. Ousmane Fall denied being the author of the remarks, saying that fake accounts had used his name and photograph and that his voice had been imitated, according to Seneweb.
